Props and cast

After talking through our plot and narrative me and Katharine Wood decided on the props and cast for our OTS:
The ' Femme fatale' who in our case is named 'Vee' has taken aspects from the conventional film noir females, for example the cigarette holder, adding that to our list of props.
Most of the male characters that we have planned out are fitting to the conventions of a film noir male, adding trilbies to our prop list.
Much like the gun in the extract of 'Killers' that we watched, me and Katharine Wood decided that we would include a signifier, after discussion about what this would be and how to translate the gun into our neo-noir theme, we decided to use tarot cards.
The costumes for our characters are going to be modern translations on the stereotypical film noir wardrobes, so we would need to find black seemed tights, a fur coat, large heels and jewellery and lipstick for out femme fetale. Also more regular clothes for the male characters, such as a suited character and a casual character.
• Cigarette Holder
• Trilbies
• Tarot cards
• Black seemed tights
• Fur coat
• Heels
• Large jewellery
• Lipstick
• Suit

For the role of Kevin, an ex-business man who was kicked down to the gutters and is now filled with revenge, we wanted a man in his 40's, with little or no white hair and a sturdy stature, capable of being somewhat scary or dominating looking.. For this we casted Kev, a friend if Katharines mum who we thought ticked the boxes well.

For the role of 'Champ', a rebellious teenager who turned from his childhood into a young man filled with hate, we wanted a 16-20 year old male, we were also looking for someone who had a rebellious kind of look about them. For this we casted Flynn, a friend of me and Katharine's who has a very 'punk' style and spike style hair.

For the all important role of 'Vee', the innocent mother turned bad-ass chick, we needed someone who could pull off being a motherly housewife and also kick-ass heroine. For this role we casted Katharines sister who we thought could do these parts well and also has children of her own that we could use for the mother scenes to make them easier to direct.
